PLANNING PRODUCTION

Below is part of the script that I have been following to know which shots I want when, the dialogue from the characters and keeping organised with different locations.

Due to being organised on the script, it made the editing process a lot easier. Below are a few screenshots of my editing process.  The use of layering really helped as I could easily see everything at shot at the same time, whether that be sounds (voice overs or backing music), text being used and the footage being played. I then added the BBC logo in the top left corner, as this pieced it all together. I used a Drone to shoot above the lighthouse as I found in most other shows, conventionally there is a scenic landscape shot before the talking starts.

As the audience is targeted to those young adults, I wanted to add coloured lighting to make it more bold. By adding the pink and warmer light, I hope makes the interview feel more calmer and welcoming whilst adding colours which make it more appealing.

I also thought that the scenes which aren't a part of the interview should be monochrome, this mostly to add a contrast and opposition between the conversation and silent scenes, it adds a variety to the viewer as it changes. It also makes it clearer when watching of the time frame, that they are two different times. The warm lighting makes it feel inviting to the casual conversation whereas monochrome is more raw and vulnerable, as in these parts she's talking about grief. In these vulnerable moments, I wanted the audience to focus on her speech, and focus their mind on the visuals rather than getting distracted by the colour. Black and white also makes it more dramatic and connotes the death, as it is symbolises mourning in which the artist is talking about in some of those particular scenes.
